Online Notary Public
A New York commissioned electronic notary meets you on live video, verifies your ID, watches you sign, and returns a sealed, tamper-evident PDF. No appointment across town, no printing, no waiting room.
Pick a time, tell us what you are signing, and pay the $25.00 booking fee. Takes about two minutes.
Choose any open slot. You pay the $25.00 booking fee here to hold it, and get a confirmation with a prep checklist.
At your appointment you answer a short identity quiz and scan your photo ID. It takes a few minutes and happens before the notary joins.
The notary confirms your identity, watches you sign, and applies the electronic seal. The whole session is recorded and kept for ten years, as New York requires.
Your notarized document is available immediately, tamper-evident and ready to send. If you added an apostille, legalization, or translation, we start on it the same day.
Two charges, and we would rather you know about both now than be surprised mid-session.
Paid here, at booking
$25.00
Session booking fee. Holds your appointment and covers scheduling, document intake, and handling.
Billed by BlueNotary, at your session
$25.00 per signature
New York caps an electronic notarial act at this amount, inclusive of all costs. Have a card ready when you join.
A worked example. One document, one signature: $25.00 here plus $25.00 at the session — $50.00 in total. Two signatures on the same document adds one more $25.00.
Nearly every failed session comes down to one of these. Five minutes now saves the appointment.
Most people who notarize online are sending the document somewhere — a consulate, a foreign ministry, a court, a university abroad. Add any of these when you book and they go on the same bill as your session fee. No second checkout, no second company.
$220.00 per document
$120.00 per document plus New York's $100.00 state surcharge. We paper the notarization out with a wet signature and stamp, take it to the County Clerk, then to the New York Department of State.
$120.00 per document
For federally issued documents — FBI background checks, USCIS records, IRS letters. These go to the US Department of State, not to New York.
$150.00 per document
For countries outside the Hague Convention, where the embassy or consulate must legalize the document. Requirements shift often, so we confirm and quote rather than guess.
$75.00 per page
Certified with a signed statement of accuracy, sworn where the destination requires it. A page is up to 250 words.
An apostille cannot be issued on an electronic file alone — that is why the paper copy with a wet signature and stamp matters, and why doing the notarization and the apostille in one place saves you a round trip. Return shipping is $50.00, charged once per order however many documents you send.
Book and add what you needYes. Remote online notarization is permanently authorized in New York under Executive Law 135-c, and our notary holds an electronic notary commission registered with the New York Department of State. The notarization carries the same legal weight as one done across a desk.
Two charges. You pay a $25.00 session booking fee here, which holds your appointment and covers scheduling, intake and document handling. BlueNotary bills the notarization itself during your session at $25.00 per signature — that is the maximum a New York electronic notary may legally charge, set by state regulation.
One notarial act is one signature notarized on one document. If two people sign the same form, that is two acts. If you sign three separate documents, that is three.
No. The notary must be physically in New York during the session; you can be anywhere in the United States. If you are outside the country, New York law allows the notarization only when the document is bound for a US court or agency, involves US property, or is part of a transaction connected to the United States — the booking form asks you about this before you pay.
An unexpired government photo ID, a US Social Security number for the identity quiz, a device with a working camera and microphone, and your document as a PDF. Do not sign the document beforehand — the notary has to watch you sign it.
The knowledge-based identity quiz relies on US credit history, so it cannot run without one. Call us before booking and we will tell you whether the biometric identity path can be used for your document, or arrange a mail-in option.
New York requires the notary certificate to state that the act was performed using communication technology. It is a legal requirement, not a defect, and it does not weaken the notarization.
Yes, and we handle it. We issue a paper copy of the electronic notarization certified with a wet signature and stamp, take it to the County Clerk where our notary is qualified, then to the New York Department of State. New York apostilles run $220.00 per document — $120.00 plus the $100.00 state surcharge New York carries — and return shipping is $50.00 per order.
Yes. We provide certified translations with a signed statement of accuracy, and sworn translations where the destination country requires one. Add it when you book and tell us the target language and page count — a page is up to 250 words.
That country is outside the Hague Apostille Convention, so the document needs embassy or consular legalization instead. We handle that too. Requirements and consulate fees vary by country and change often, so we quote legalization after confirming that consulate's current rules rather than charging a flat rate up front.
Yes, and they are different routes. A document our notary notarizes takes the New York route: County Clerk, then the New York Department of State. A federally issued document — an FBI background check, a USCIS record, an IRS letter — goes to the US Department of State instead. Add whichever you need when you book and we will tell you if you picked the wrong one.
Wills and codicils, anything a receiving agency insists be signed in wet ink, and documents that specifically require a notary commissioned in another state. Tell us what you have and we will say so before you pay, not after.
Most sessions run about 30 minutes, including identity verification. Complicated documents with several signers take longer.
Pick a time that suits you. If you would rather talk it through first, call us.
