Mail It to the Capital, Not Into a Queue

Someone in Naples, Pensacola or Key West has exactly one option for a Florida apostille: the document travels to Tallahassee. The usual version of that story is a padded envelope, a tracking number and a three-week silence. The version we offer is an address in the Capitol district, a person who opens it, and a filing walked across the street the day it is ready.

The Capitol-district address also matters for a particular kind of paperwork — corporate registry records, licensing board certifications, state agency letters. Those are issued within a few blocks of Suite 800, which keeps the whole sequence inside one small area instead of spread across a state 800 miles wide.

What We Do

Services at the North Monroe Office

Statewide Mail-In Filing

Send originals from any of Florida's 67 counties — or from out of state entirely. Documents are logged on arrival, checked, and filed in person rather than joining the state's inbound mail pile.

Corporate Registry Records

Certificates of status, articles of incorporation and organization, amendments, mergers and fictitious name filings — pulled and authenticated for use by a foreign registry, bank or commercial partner.

Professional Licenses

Nursing, medical, engineering, teaching, real estate and contractor credentials verified by the issuing board and authenticated for licensure or employment in another country.

Academic Records

Diplomas and sealed transcripts from Florida universities and colleges, prepared for graduate admission, teaching posts and credential evaluation overseas.

Federal Apostille

FBI reports, N-550 and N-560 certificates, district court records, Form 6166 and discharge papers — handled by our Washington office, since Tallahassee has no authority over federal seals.

Notary & Certified Translation

Signings taken on site, and translations issued with a certificate of accuracy — both produced to match what the state and the receiving country will accept, in the order they need to happen.

Simple · Tracked · Reliable

What a Mailed Document Actually Goes Through

Most people never see this part, which is why so many self-filed packets come back. A document arriving at Suite 800 is logged, read against the current standards, corrected or supplemented if something is missing, and only then filed. The failure usually happens at step two, long before the state is involved at all.

Why Mail It Here

The Difference Between Posting It and Filing It

A packet mailed to a state agency has nobody looking after it. A packet mailed to us has four things working in its favour.

  • A person opens it the day it lands Not a mailroom and not a batch queue. If something is wrong with the document, you hear about it within a day instead of after a rejection.
  • Missing pieces get fixed, not returned A certification that needs renewing, a seal that is not the right one, a copy that was never certified — we chase those down here rather than mailing the problem back to you.
  • Everything the state issues is nearby Registry records, licensing certifications and agency letters all originate within a few blocks, so a document that needs one of those first does not restart the clock.
  • One office covers both governments Florida filings are lodged here; federal ones go to our Washington team. You send one envelope regardless of what is inside it.
Questions & Answers

101 North Monroe Street Office — Common Questions

Where is this office?
101 N Monroe St, Suite 800, Tallahassee, FL 32301 — on the eighth floor, facing the Capitol complex in downtown Tallahassee, within a few blocks of the state agencies and the corporate registry.
I don't live in Tallahassee. Can I just mail everything?
Yes, and most clients do. Florida has one apostille authority and it is in this city, so the document has to travel here whatever you decide. Mailing it to Suite 800 means it arrives to a person who checks it before filing, rather than landing unexamined in a government inbox.
What is the price?
A federal apostille is $120 per document, flat, with the government fee inside that figure. Florida apostilles are {{FL_PRICE}}. Where a licensing board certification, registry search, notarization or translation is needed first, that is quoted up front and not added later.
Can you get the underlying certificate too, not just the apostille?
Often, yes. Corporate registry records, licensing board verifications and state agency certifications can be requested on your behalf, since the offices that issue them are nearby. It saves the round trip of obtaining a document yourself, discovering it is in the wrong form, and starting again.
Which of my documents is Florida's and which is Washington's?
The issuer decides. A Florida agency, court, university, licensing board or notary means a state filing, done here. The FBI, USCIS, the IRS, a federal court or the armed services means a federal apostille, which only Washington can issue. Put both in the same envelope — sorting them is our side of the job.
How long should I allow?
The federal route runs roughly 10 business days through our Washington office. Florida timing depends on whether a preliminary certification is needed, so you get a date once the document has been looked at rather than an estimate beforehand.
What if the receiving country wants embassy legalization?
Then an apostille is not the right certificate, and the document needs a chain instead: Florida or federal authentication, the U.S. Department of State, and finally that country's embassy or consulate. We run those as well — tell us where it is going and you will get the order of operations and an honest timeline before any money changes hands.
